Due to the ever increasing email spam problem (and our spam filter going haywire) we have had to find a better way to ask for submissions to our Calendar of Events. We would like to try the form below to see if it is the best way to receive event information and keep all submissions in the same format. CVHE.net is excited to tell you about the opportunities for learning experience and social enrichment that are offered to homeschool families in the area. In the first section you will see a list of upcoming events. Below that you will find activities (like clubs) that have no registration deadline and are happening on a regular basis. Keep checking back for updates as more is added!

Upcoming Events:

ACA Open House
It takes place: Thursday May 8, 2008 at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall of Forest Road United Methodist Church at 2805 Old Forest Road in Lynchburg.

Regular Events:

A Life of Faith Girls' Clubs
What: Girls' club based on the biblical teaching of the Elsie Dinsmore series, open to all girls ages 8-14.
When: Meets on the third Saturday of every month from 3-4 PM.
Where: New Life Christian Stores, 4018 Wards Road in Lynchburg.

Bedford YMCA Homeschool Swim
When: Thursdays from 11:30AM-1PM.
Where: Bedford YMCA.
Cost: $2/family (YMCA members free).

Bedford YMCA P.E. Class
When: Thursdays from 1:30-2:30PM.
Where: Bedford YMCA.
Cost: $10/month ($5 for each additional child). YMCA members get a discount.

GO SWIM! Swimming Lessons
What: An after-school program to help young swimmers learn to have fun in the water with safety skills, stroke techniques, and survival knowledge.
When: Grades K-2, M/W 2:50-4PM; grades 3-6, T/R 2:50-4PM. (Runs from October 31 - June 2.)
Where: Liberty University, LaHaye Student Center Aquatic Center.
Cost: $65/month.

Interchurch Basketball League
When: Sign-ups start in October.
Where: Timberlake Baptist Church; 21395 Timberlake Road; Lynchburg, VA 24502.

LaHaye Ice Center Homeschool Days
When: The first Friday of every month from 2-4PM.
Where: Liberty University's LaHaye Ice Center.
Cost: $5/skater (includes rental).

Lynchburg Kids Soccer League
When: 4-6th grade - Tuesdays at 6PM (boys are playing American football); 2-3rd grade - Saturdays at 9AM; K-1st grade - Saturdays at 10:15AM.
Where: TRBC sports field (Located across from Hardees by LU).
Cost: $25

Mom's Night Out
When: Fourth Tuesday of every month at 7PM.
Where: New Life Christian Stores, 4018 Wards Road in Lynchburg.

Ouimets' Ministry for High School Young People
When: 7–8:30PM on Tuesday nights.
Where: Plaza Shopping Center off Memorial Ave in Lynchburg. In the lower level around back next to High Peak - the first glass entrance below the Kingdom Harvest sign.

Scrapbook Crop Nights
What: An opportunity for Mom to have the evening out and fellowship with other ladies while preserving memories.
When: Meets on the third Saturday of every month from 5-9 PM.
Where: New Life Christian Stores, 4018 Wards Road in Lynchburg.

Spanish Class for Homeschoolers
When: Tuesdays from 1-2:30PM starting September 12.
Where: Lynchburg Parks and Rec building (across from Miller Park).

Toddler Tuesdays at Amazement Square
What: Story time, songs, games, and crafts for toddlers with a barnyard theme.
When: Every Tuesday from 1-2PM.
